Who Am I?
I am a UK-based freelance interactive media developer. I've been designing and developing websites and interactive applications since 1995, and was involved in user interface design for many years before that.
History
I founded Dalmatian Design Ltd, a new media development company based near Cambridge in England, in 1996. We designed and built web sites and interactive applications for a wide variety of local and national organisations, including Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge University and E*TRADE UK. In 2003 I sold Dalmatian Design and moved back to Scotland.
Before forming Dalmatian Design, I worked as a user interface design specialist for a couple of software companies. I have a Master of Design degree from the Royal College of Art in London.
Location
I am now based in Fintry near Glasgow in Scotland but work for clients throughout the UK.
How do I work?
I like it when I can form a long-term relationship with my clients. This allows me to develop a good understanding of how their organization works and what their goals are. And at the same time my clients can gain a better understanding of what I can do for them.
There are only so many hours in a day and I frequently draw on associates with specialist skills - programmers, designers, copywriters, etc - to assist with projects as needed.
Who do I work for?
I work for a wide range of organisations - from the financial sector and mobile telecommunications, to academic institutions and local charities.
